Shannon and Lindsey offer a charming garden venue location for the North Georgia Wedding market.
Both Shannon and Lindsey have a great pulse on not only the wedding, but also the celebration industry in the greater Atlanta area. Together they have worked in the wedding industry for over 34 years. After working for large corporations and private owners they now have combined their knowledge and experience to create The Garden Cottage Event Co. Recently in 2024, they fell in love with the property now known as The Garden Cottage Event Co and are ready to make your dreams a reality in their newly refined space. 
Lindsey
Lindsey's extensive over 14-year tenure in the event coordination industry showcases her extensive expertise and dedication to creating memorable experiences. Her journey has included corporate events, brand development (with local celebrities) and management. Her passion however, is in the personal experiences found within more intimate interactions since founding her company Haylan Events & Weddings in 2019.
In 2019, Lindsey took a significant step by establishing her own business after her husband joked about “finding a hobby.” Lindsey was a stay at home mom with 2 boys under the age of 2 and decided to start Haylan Events & Weddings LLC, Haylan, which the name stems from her now 3 kids names and has provided her with a wealth of knowledge within the celebration market of the Atlanta greater area.
Lindsey's venture into entrepreneurship not only reflects her proficiency in event planning and coordination, but also highlights her commitment to creating inclusive and engaging experiences for communities while providing a diverse range of services tailored to different occasions.
Lindsey’s company specializes in curating celebrations of all sizes, leveraging a keen eye for detail and multifaceted passion within the industry. Beyond events and weddings, Lindsey would love to utilize the venue at The Garden Cottage Event Co. for community events, family gatherings, and various photography options.
Upon finding The Garden Cottage Event Co venue, Lindsey knew this was the space she had dreamed of where she could incorporate her love for creating custom tailored occasions. The inviting and charming space not only provides a beautiful setting tucked within the scenic North Georgia Mountains, but behind it a dedicated team of professionals that will curate your most important day.

Shannon
Shannon has worked in the wedding and celebration industry for over 20 years. Working in a variety of markets from luxury events at country club and hotel settings to boutique wedding venues in the Atlanta area she has developed a true understanding of the needs of her clients and what matters most for her couples and their families while planning and organizing this most important moment of their lives.
In 2023, Shannon and Mark were blessed with their daughter, during this time Shannon stepped into a new role as a full time wedding planner within the industry she continued to be passionate about.
She most recently has worked in luxury wedding planning market planning celebrations throughout the greater Atlanta area and has developed an eye for what makes up the best venue spaces and experiences from a bride and wedding planner viewpoint.
Shannon has an overall passion for weddings, celebrations, design and creativity within the wedding and event market paired with maintaining a personable and caring approach for her couples and families. She takes pride in making sure the planning, organization and communication is a seamless experience.
Shannon has always dreamed of taking her knowledge and experiences to develop a space that is both aesthetically charming, while providing a high level of service desired on celebration day. Most importantly, she values and understands the needs of families and is dedicated to being with you every step of the way.
Upon discovering the property known now as The Garden Cottage Event Co, she saw potential in a space within the highly sought after location of North Georgia. She and Lindsey fell in love with the garden setting, rich history and charming bones of the property . Shannon and Lindsey can’t wait to share this hidden gem with you!
